The Lantern Keepers

A fogbound coast

The Lantern Keepers

Lighthouse witches who trade memories for safe passage through the storm.

The World

On the Grayshoal Coast, a lighthouse burns green at the new moon. The keepers are three sisters bound to the stone — each one a witness to every shipwreck the tower has ever seen. Sailors leave a memory at the door. In return, the lantern turns for them.

The tower was built from ships the sea refused to keep. Bones of oak and iron. Every plank still remembers the hands that laid it down.

The youngest sister, Vessa, never sleeps. She carries the names of the drowned in a ledger that grows a page each tide. When it rains, the ink rises.

No ship has ever been lost to Grayshoal. Every ship has lost something.

Bring me a memory bright enough to burn, and the lantern will find you home.
